Blocking out a week for a job that falls through is a week you cannot earn back. Soopaspace takes a deposit by card when the job is booked, so the dates you set aside are dates that happen.

A deposit when the job is booked
Set a deposit on a job, taken by card when the customer books, with the balance due on completion. A bigger job that blocks out a week, or needs paint and materials up front, can carry a bigger deposit, so you are not funding the job before you start.

- Can I ask for a deposit to cover paint and materials?
- Yes. You set the deposit per job, so a job that needs materials or a run of days can carry a larger deposit, taken by card when the customer books.
- What if the dates change?
- The deposit holds the booking and counts toward the total. If the dates move, the job moves with its deposit, and the balance is invoiced when the work is done.
