A shoot booked weeks ahead needs to stay exactly where it is. A deposit taken by card when the booking is made holds the date, and the balance is settled in person or later, so a booked morning with a dog and its family is really booked, not just pencilled in.

Meet the pet before the shoot
Animals do not pose to order, so a shoot goes better when you have met them first. Offer a consultation, free or paid, that books like any appointment, and use it to talk through the shoot, settle a nervous dog or cat, and agree whether it is outdoors or at home.
