A deposit when the piece comes in

Cutting a mount and a moulding to order for a bespoke frame is a lot to do on trust. Soopaspace takes a card deposit when the job is booked in, so the work is held and paid toward before you start.

Free to start with your booking page, bookings and clients. Everything else is one paid plan: £9.99/month billed yearly, or £12.99 monthly.

A deposit when the job is booked in

Set a deposit on a job, taken by card when the piece comes in, with the balance due on collection. A large frame that uses a long length of moulding, or glass and a mount cut to order, can carry a bigger deposit, so materials cut for one piece are covered before you start.

  • A card deposit when the job is booked in
  • Bigger pieces can hold a bigger deposit
  • Covers the materials cut to order
  • The balance settled on collection

The rest settled on collection

The deposit comes off the total, so the customer only owes the balance when they collect the frame. They settle it by card from an invoice, and the work is paid toward rather than held on trust, so a mount and a moulding cut for one piece are not left on your hands.

  • The deposit comes off the total
  • The balance paid by card on collection
  • The customer sees exactly what is left
  • Materials cut to order are paid toward

Common questions

Can I ask for a deposit to cover materials cut to order?
Yes. You set the deposit per job, so a frame that needs moulding, glass and a mount cut to size can carry a larger deposit, taken by card when the job comes in.
What happens to the deposit if the customer does not collect?
The deposit is taken when the job is booked in and recorded against it, so materials cut to order are paid toward rather than lost on trust. Your own terms decide what happens to it.
